Dan Gilroy Design | Frequently Asked Questions
Building Websites for Lawyers
General F.A.Q.'s
1. How much does a website cost?
Each web site is different. Thus, charges vary depending on the
size and complexity of the project. You will find that the rates
charged by Dan Gilroy Design are very reasonable for the quality of work
provided. A cost estimate and fee schedule are provided and
mutually agreed to before any work begins on a project.
2. How long before my website is active?
Dan Gilroy Design works with its clients to see that the project runs smoothly and
on time. The degree to which a client's website content is
ready to go largely dictates how long it takes to get a new site up
and running. If those conditions are favorable, most client sites can be completed within
30 to 60 days.

Process F.A.Q.'s
7. How does the web design process work? What should I expect?
Any successful web design project needs to be a
collaborative and fluid process, yet still have enough structure to
complete the process in a timely manner. In a nutshell, therefore, you
can expect the following when working with Dan Gilroy Design:
Initial Contact. When you make your initial contact with Dan
Gilroy Design, you'll speak to Dan Gilroy personally. Dan will ask you
some general questions about your website project. Nothing technical,
he'll just try to get an understanding of what you're trying to
accomplish with your website. This is also an opportunity to ask Dan
anything that is on
your mind. But don't worry if you forget to ask a question, Dan is never
more than a quick email away.
Planning & Paperwork. Following your initial contact, Dan will
arrange to meet you in person to discuss and plan your project in further
detail. Afterwards, Dan will prepare a formal web design proposal and cost
estimate based on the details of your planning meeting. Upon acceptance of
the proposal, you will have the opportunity to review and approve a standard
web design contract that spells out the project's goals and specifications,
as well as the duties and responsibilities of each party during the life of
the project. Once the contract is signed, payment for one-half of the
project's total cost is due.
Design Stage. After the paperwork has
been dispensed with, the development of your new website begins. Dan will
present you with a mock-up(s) of your site based on the parameters agreed to
previously. Rather than merely present you with a graphic mock-up
of your new site, Dan Gilroy Design will present you a functional web
page so you can see how it will look, feel, and work in the real world. At this
point, as through all stages of development, you will be asked to review the
mock-up and provide your feedback and requested modifications for Dan Gilroy
Design to incorporate.
Content Preparation. While your mock-up is
being designed, you will be asked to produce all your website content,
including, but not limited to: webpage copy and photographs, if any. Dan
Gilroy Design will also ask you some questions and have you think about how
you want your visitors to find you via search engine queries.
Quality Assurance & Testing. Once the site is fully developed,
you will be asked to review it one final time to ensure that it meets your
expectations. Any remaining concerns or modifications you have will be
resolved at this point. The site will be tested to ensure that it is
compatible across all modern web browsers and platforms. The site will then
be uploaded live to the web.
Launch & Post-Launch Support. With
all testing and revisions completed, the site will be launched live to the
web. At this point the remaining one-half payment is due. This marks the
completion of your website design project. For the first 14 days following
your website's launch, follow-up support is provided free of charge. This
support can be in the form of site modifications, technical support, or
consultation.
