About the firm
Houze Law Firm is a two-attorney Portland criminal defense practice. The project included a new logo, content work, custom website design, WordPress development, migration, and performance testing.
The redesign replaced a conventional small-firm presentation with black-and-white portraiture, a restrained dark palette, and clearer paths to the firm’s services and attorneys. The result is direct and serious without relying on urgency tactics common to criminal defense websites.

Before and after
Before
A compact brochure site
The previous site offered a short firm description, two attorney links, representative cases, and long award explanations. It documented experience, but the plain structure and limited practice detail did little to distinguish a high-stakes criminal defense firm from a conventional small-firm website.

After
A restrained high-stakes defense brand
The redesign uses black-and-white portraiture, a dark editorial palette, and sharper positioning to signal discretion and authority immediately. Dedicated practice paths, notable case stories, and a clearer mobile structure turn a basic brochure into a focused credibility platform for serious matters.
