About the firm

Rod of Iron Trusts & Estates Counsel is a San Francisco solo practice focused on estate planning and probate. The 2025 engagement began with a new identity and extended through the website, giving the practice a consistent visual and editorial direction from launch.

The site organizes services for families planning ahead or handling an estate after a death. Clear page titles, restrained typography, and direct contact paths keep the subject matter approachable without making the practice look generic.

Dan does phenomenal work. As a solo practitioner, I was looking to create a professional online presence, and from our first phone call, I could tell Dan truly gets it. He was responsive to my questions, understood the assignment, and guided me through the process with patience and clarity. I didn’t have a solid vision at the beginning, but Dan’s process helped shape it. He waited while I got photographs taken and even offered thoughtful suggestions to help everything come together. As lawyers, we’re not web designers and it was a huge relief to hand the project off and receive top-quality work in return. Before hiring Dan, I looked at every website I could find that he had designed. It was one of those situations where I knew I’d be forking over a decent sum of money for web design and had no idea what I was really going to get. I’ve run several businesses in the past, and I’ve learned that some people are hit or miss—you never quite know who you’re dealing with. That wasn’t the case here. I also hired a 3rd party company to assist with content development, and Dan worked seamlessly with them. He was responsive to their emails and implemented everything that was needed without hesitation. What I found good about Dan is his experience working with other law firms. He brought best practices into the design and development that made a real difference. As lawyers, people pay us for our experience. Dan's experience made me comfortable. He also connected me with an excellent logo designer who created my logo, letterhead, envelopes—the full branding suite. To be fair, Dan is not the cheapest option but he is worth every dollar. He didn’t just meet expectations, he positioned me exactly where I needed to be, and then some. I’m completely satisfied with his work and would highly recommend him to any attorney looking for a website makeover or a fresh start online.
